Ben Flocks - 'Battle Mountain'

Anthony Dean-Harris
Editor-in-Chief / @i_ADH

California-native saxophonist Ben Flocks loves his home state. In fact, he loves his home state so much, much like Sufjan Stevens, he made an album all about it replete with the vastness and diversity one would expect from the Golden State. The latest album from the artist who has earned the praise of musicians line Julian Lage, Taylor Eigsti, Joshua Redman, and Donny McCaslin, Battle Mountain, named after the mountain where Flocks grew up in Bonny Doon located in central California's Santa Cruz mountains, is out next week. In the meantime, watch the very video for the very folksy tune "Tennessee Waltz", the Battle Mountain EPK, and pre-order information from Flocks' Bandcamp after the jump.

Battle Mountain releases February 11th.
