Keyboardist and producer Javier Santiago has been flying under the radar ever since the release of his 2015 debut EP The Year of the Horse, much to our chagrin we might add. It was therefore with true glee that we rejoiced at the news of a new EP by the young pianist. Verses, which dropped last week, sees the maturing Santiago venture further into the realm of neo soul while nonetheless staying true to his jazz roots. This is accomplished by the welcome addition of vocalists Proper-T, Amyna, Farr Well, Vinny Crook$ and Melanie Charles to the mix. Watch the video for “Yesterday”, the lead single off the EP below.
