Woolly Mammals – “Voicemail”

Brooklyn collective Woolly Mammals is a daring exploration of the intersection between alternative indie rock and jazz fusion blending the expressive vocabulary of Robert Glasper and Snarky Puppy with a singular robotic grunge by way of bass vocoder. Woolly Mammals, namely Andrew Koehler on keyboard and synth, Kyle McCarter on drums and projections, Noah Ross on guitar and sub guitar, and Will Sacks on bass vocoder (Facebass) have a video EP in the works entitled When You Get This slated for January 19th of the coming year. But in the meantime, make sure to check out their newest single “Voicemail” below, an experiment in humanizing the machine, talking tenderly about love rather than Daft Punk’s almost authoritarian robotic lyrics. Because pushing the boundaries of weirdness and blurring the lines between genres is always a good thing in our own humble opinion.
