A new Blank on Blank animated short featuring John Coltrane has been making the rounds recently. Blank on Blank is a production of Quoted Studios, a nonprofit content studio based in Brooklyn. Their mission is simple: “preserve and re-imagine the American interview”. To accomplish this endeavor, the studio has teamed up with PBS to produce short animated features which bring to life undiscovered interviews from all kinds of notable figures ranging from Muhammad Ali to Ray Bradbury by way of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Maya Angelou. With regards to the realm of jazz music, Blank on Blank has release four pertinent videos to date: John Coltrane on Giant Steps, Stan Getz on Wasted Years, Louis Armstrong on His Chops, and Dave Brubeck on Fighting Communism with Jazz.
