Julian Lage – “Crying” (Video)

As I have been saying a lot recently, it’s hard not to be charmed by guitarist Julian Lage. He’s hitting the roots of rock on his new album, Love Hurts, out February 22nd on Mack Avenue Records. For his latest video, he’s covering Roy Orbison’s “Crying” with his trio of Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King, taking things straight down the middle until things take off soaring. Even Alex Chaloff’s video for their take is a simple affair, giving you a wandering look at the trio in silohuettes, shifting tones, and lens flares, laying everything bare. That’s how Lage charms you, simply, letting all the pure elements just shine. Check out the video below.
