It’s nice whenever we hear anything from Taylor McFerrin. Understandably, it’s what he does. It took him a while before he put out his debut album, Early Riser, back in 2015. Back in 2018, he linked up with the Blue Note supergroup R+R=NOW with Robert Glasper, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Derrick Hodge, Terrace Martin, and Justin Tyson. Now, McFerrin is back in front on his own for his sophomore album, Love’s Last Chance, tacking all the instruments and making for a soulful mix of everything that is the jam that sounds like all that time percolating to now was worth it.
